2) a group of persons so gathered together, as for religious, political, or educational purposes
3) gov (usu. cap.) a legislative body, esp. the lower house of the legislature in certain states of the U.S
4) mil a bugle call summoning troops to fall into ranks in the assembly area
5) mac the putting together of complex machinery, as airplanes, from interchangeable parts of standard dimensions
6) the act of assembling
